The Lorah family farm has been at this location for over one hundred years and is currently being farmed by its fourth generation. We are entering our twenty third year of pig roasting.
We raise farm fresh chickens and pigs and rent the roaster in which to cook them, complete with charcoal, lighter fluid and instructions on how to prepare your roast. We also do country catering for all events including; weddings, reunions, graduation parties, birthdays and any other occasion.
An average pig is between 100-150 pounds, live weight. This should easily feed 50-70 guests. The pig will take approximately 8-9 hours to fully cook in the roaster. Rotating is not necessary.
We rent the roaster out for a 24-hour period. We can deliver the roaster, for a fee within 20 miles, on the morning of your event or you may pick it up yourself. The roasters must be hauled in a pickup truck or trailer; they do not have hitches to tow behind your vehicle. We request that the roaster be returned clean and in the condition in which you received it.
You are responsible for operating the roaster correctly and safely. The Lorahs cannot be held responsible for injury, illness, or dissatisfaction while renting our roaster.
It is suggested that you plan to reserve your roaster two to three weeks in advance of your event. For catering please reserve four to six weeks in advance.
